Post-Orientation Blues

Yo peeps! I'm back again after 2 weeks of not updating my blog. It's because I was part of the Orientation Committee 2008/2009 with 2 weeks of trimester break is spent in MMU. One week for OC Binding Camp and one week for the Orientation Week itself. Mind you, OC stands for Orientation Committee and not Organising Committee or Orange County. I need to clarify this as some confused over the meaning of OC.

Well, I looked forward to be OC for the second time after the great experiences that I gained last year. This year is more special as this is the first intake Cyberjaya accept IT and Engineering foundation students. Foundation students reminded me of my brother as they are of same age.

I was really tired during the Orientation Week but the freshies were my inspiration to continue on until orientation ends. They are the reason why I wanted to join OC in the first place and I still have the same belief to get me going on during the Orientation Week. The freshies had been real great. I managed to get quite close with some of them.

The only thing that I regret is the lack of time to bond with them. As there is lack of LDK session this year due to rehearsal on the first of Orientation the prepare the freshies for the Opening ceremony which falls on next day. Besides that, Orientation starts on Sunday instead of the usual Saturday. That means one day less to bond with them. And I was the station master for the Night Hunt accompany them to all the stations in the Night Hunt as I'm an ex-OC while my OC partner was inexperienced.

But I was proud of my freshies for being the first runner-up for the Night Hunt and also their great sketch for Performance Night. It's really great to see my group of freshies for bonding closely and the prize proves that you all work together as one. Too bad I can't be with you all for the Night Hunt. Great job to my OC partner, Sayyid for guiding them during the hunt.

Group 19 freshies,
you all are the best and I love you all. Wish you all enjoy university life and keep on improving yourselves to achieve something great in future. It's nice to know all of you and I've learnt from all of you and hopefully you all learnt something from me. Cheers!~

And to all the OCs, be PASSIONATE in everything you do. Passion is not merely a word from your mouth, it's the burning desire in you.

I'm starting to miss the times spent with freshies and OCs. I think I'm having Post-Orientation Syndrome or defined by Mr Richard Thomas Fredericks as Post-OC Emotional Trauma (P.O.E.T. in short). And currently I'm suffering from triple attack of flu+cough+sore throat. Hopefully I'll be well before internship starts on Tuesday. *fingers crossed*

With Passion,

Keat Yee
