Break the Ice for OC 2008/2009

Walking to SBA, the walkway seems familiar. Laughters can be heard. The excitement is there.

21st April 2008, Orientation Committee June Intake 2008/2009 Ice-breaking session at SBA.

Familiar faces can be seen and new faces are the latest addition.

I actually kinda dragged to attend the ice-breaking because it will be an awkward for all of us to meet for the first time, at least it is for me. OC 2008/2009 will be a new different committee, but of course I still miss the time with Orientation Committee 2007/2008.

It's time for new encounter and well, I went with an open heart. Ice-breaking was good, with the ex-OCs being noisy, of course, especially the gays! Jega, the Prom King is the target as people were jealous of him being a Prom King :P

Things will be different this time around. Unlike last year, where there are around 80 OCs taking care of 400++ freshies; there will be only 70++ OCs to take care of almost 1,000 freshies. Wonder how would it be?

People keep wondering why I want to apply to become an OC when I need to go for internship in June, well, it's because it will be my last chance of becoming an OC since I'll be graduating next year. I don't know if I would get a place next year so I want to give it a shot this year around.
The journey of OC 2007/2008 has ended but it is just the beginning for OC 2008/2009.

The 50 Most Eligible Bachelors 2008 @ Zouk KL

I was at this place last Friday.

The Reason:

Source: CLEO 50 Most Eligible Bachelors 2008 Website

This was my second time been to a club my whole life and first time going to club with friends and what's more first time to Zouk. It's first time for Sharron to club! Gotta thanks to Fly FM for appearing during DJAN to distribute the tickets.

We 4 girls - me, my sis, Sharron and Ai Ping - arrived around 8.00 p.m. and we were the only group with our ICs checked. Are we looking too young to enter a club? The event starts at 8.30 p.m. with the introduction of the 50 bachelors. Gosh, the bachelors were really HOT! SUPER UBER HOT! And there's 50 of them! Imagine the girls screaming everytime a bachelor introduces themself. Those screams almost deafen my ears.

The best pick up line among the bachelors belongs to Bachelor No. 6: Adam Lobo.

Pick-up line: "You know the reason for global warming? It's because I'm too hot!"

Bachelor No. 46: Kenny Sia. He got the loudest cheer from the crowd.

Eligible Bachelor 2007, Christian with CLEO Editor. He's one hot guy! And he's from the reality show "What Women Want" hosted by Hannah Tan.

The 50 bachelors got to play games with the ladies and gosh, there's one guy that took off his shirt during the game of acting out a music viceo scene. And the funniest game is a game where the guys let the ladies guess the songs they are humming to using animal sounds.

Mr Kenny Sia was supposed to interact with the lady to act out a music video but it's one-man show in the end with him trying to untie his belt, haha.

Dina of Malaysian Idol performed that day. Cool!

These hot bachelors danced and stripped off their jackets to reveal their hot bods! Tharan said that the bachelors are only side dishes.

The winner of Most Eligible Bachelor 2008 with the 2007 winner. Charming!

The winner: Brian Lau.

This event rocks! Too bad I can't stay there for the after-event party to take pictures with the Bachelors as we were rushing back home. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the whole event. The only thing that annoyed me that night is the chain-smoker in front of me - he keeps on smoking non-stop!! Puffing off like some chimney releasing smoke.

And oh, not forgetting a group of ladies in front of me that keeps on walking pass me. As if the place not crowded enough, they keep on cramp through us to make way to I-don't-know-where. Sooooo annoying!!

If you have any friends that have what it takes to become Most Eligible Bachelor 2009, you may nominate them here.

Post E-Night 2008

Curtain falls for Enchanted Night 2008.

It's such a relief for me but at the same time having some post E-Night syndrome. Relieved as I am now free from all the stress and tension of making things right for the night, but at the same time, I do miss the time spent to make this event a success.

I miss the time where I will be at the booth, selling tickets and promoting the event, persuading people to go to the prom.

I remember the time where we sell donuts for fund raising, packing donuts, and even shouted the wrong company's name. (We shouted Big Apple instead of J. Co, must have been blurness got the better of us as we sell donuts everyday)

I still remember the time where we all worry about the budget as it had constrained us from doing a lot of things.

I remember the time spent to go to Kepong to go to a sponsor's HQ and then rush to Klang at the same day. Look for Bak Kut Teh in Klang but ended up in Jusco Bukit Tinggi.

Not forgetting the nights spent to complete the programme book content and advertisement design and of course, getting the Flash presentation done real last minute.

And oh, I won't forget the real slow lab computer that takes tens of minutes spooling before printing a document.

The nights spent on packing goodie bags and cutting tickets.

It's by then that I know that Ken's SLK can fit 24 cartons of milk! Amazing!

And the back of his car can fit 5 person!

And not forgetting the Valerism that is spread by Valerie to me. Monday blues will be all gone if you sit next to her for 2 hours. Her blurness, quirkiness, wittiness and hyperactiveness sure won't fail to cheer you up unless you cannot stand noisy person. I bet Aaron (she mistakenly said that his name is Andrew) did not go to the available on Monday cos he cannot stand being bugged by Valerie. I think I'm infected by the Valerism virus. Someone cure me please!

Today only I realise how much time I spent for E-Night as I sit in front of my PC now blogging.

Post E-Night had not been good as I need to rush for assignment submission - one on Monday, one on Tuesday. I slept for less than 2 hours on Tuesday morning to rush for assignment submission on Tuesday 4 p.m. My groupmates even called me "Superwoman". What a compliment -_- As a result, I dozed off during tutorial for Managerial Communication. I don't know if my tutor saw that. Hopefully no.

2 more assignments submission coming up followed by revision for final exam. No time for me to slow down. Guess I have to be a 'Superwoman' for one month more.

DJAN: The Phantom of the Studio

After all the hard work for one whole year, it's time to be appreciated. DJ Appreciation Night, named "The Phantom of the Studio", it is based on the Masquarade theme laced with black, gold and red. was held at Cyberview Lodge Resort on 11th April 2008. Being appreciated is nice, but the cost: RM 80. Nevertheless, the fun time that I had there was worth the money. However, there is not much choices in food.

The table setting

Food... There's Western and Japanese to choose from...

Me with Fam, Cantonese slot manager.

Me and my sis with Zeth and Adrian from English slot.

With my mentor and future Cantonese slot manager, Edward

Cantonese slot DJs

When we were at the stage already only we realise that there's not any camera to take any pictures. What a bummer! With so many cameras available, of course this could be done quickly.
The shocker of the night: I was the winner for the Best Jingle Award for Cantonese slot. I was surprised when my name was announced my name as I never thought highly of the jingle I did. Thanks to DJ Club for the award and also Fam and Edward for giving me guidance. I know I'm not a really good DJ at the start but you guys always give me motivation to do better :D

Me with the prizes for MMU Cyberjaya DJ Club 2007/2008 Best Jingle Award (Canto Slot)

Cantonese slot DJs rock!! I'm lovin' it!

Sponsors-Searching Day

Yesterday me, Ping Ting and Ken went out to meet the sponsor for Enchanted Night 2008 (click here for more info) in Kepong. It's exciting as we search for the place by just using a map. Reached there and got our sponsored products and head for Klang for collecting sponsored items as well.
We saw one car that almost got into accident. The driver was driving very fast and when he braked the car, it took a distance before the car slowing down. And Ken's car was in the next lane!! Thankful that the car did not bang us or others.
It was a long journey to Klang from Kepong, taking almost an hour and we got lost while searching for the sponsor's HQ as the place is quite secluded. Nevertheless, after searching for some time, we got to find that place.

Since we were in Klang, we thought of eating Bak Kut Teh but Klang is so 'big' that we can't found the place where most of the bak kut teh shops located so I suggested to look for AEON Bukit Tinggi since none of us went there before. Was about to give looking for bak kut teh shops and AEON when I saw the building and off we go to the mall.

AEON Bukit Tinggi. Was impressed by the length of the mall.

We were hungry, so we hunt for food before settled down in a Korean restaurant.

Sotong Ken was really tired that he fell asleep. What a sotong!

Ping Ting and me with the food.

The food. It was a filling one as we can refill the side dishes. We refill the side dishes and ate until we were so full!

Shopping after that as Ping Ting looking for a prom dress and I saw this in a shop.

It says, "Please push the button." Haha.

We were back in Cyberjaya at almost 10. What a day but were happy of the sponsored items that we got from the sponsors ^-^
