Of 3 Birthdays and New Trimester

New trimester just started and things had been a chaos. Marketing Research subject clashes with Language Level 2 and we are not able to register for Marketing Research subject, which was supposed to be offered during my second year but it was not offered at that time and thus, we took another subject in replace of Marketing Research thinking that we can register for it on the same trimester in our third year.

We were confident that we will be able to register this trimester yet the matter of subjects clashing made us register for Language Level 2 but not Marketing Research. We are in the process of appealing for a new session for Marketing Research. Should I not able to register for Marketing Research this semester, I will have to extend one semester just for this subject. Hopefully this matter will be resolved by the end of next week.

Knowing that I won't be able to solve it by thinking about it 24/7, I took time off the matter to celebrate the belated birthdays on 5th Feb at McD Sri Kembangan, where my belated birthday was celebrated last year. It was a happy occasion, with 3 birthdays to be celebrated.

The topic for the night revolved around the MUET Band 1 graduation policy in MMU. It's weird how MMU would allow those who got MUET Band 1 (The minimum) to graduate. That means the level of proficiency of English of Band 1 students are really low that they have difficulties understanding the subjects in class. Nevertheless, I'm glad that the Band 3 requirement still applies to my batch. Thus, this ensures that the quality of the students to be maintained.

Happy Chinese New Year!

I celebrated Chinese New Year Eve, 25th Jan, at Genting Highlands, the City of Entertainment. This is the fourth year that we celebrated CNY at Genting, thanks to my 8th aunt for booking rooms for us to stay.

Had lunch at the base of the mountain with my aunt's family. While waiting for my aunt to arrive, a man approached me and my siblings and put a chestnut on the table for each of us. My brother and sister were wondering what did the person gave us the chestnuts and would not eat the nuts but me seeing the guy wearing a shirt of a chestnut chain, I just eat the chestnut given.

Apparently, the man sells chestnuts and boy, the nuts were tasty! Lunch were delicious especially the king prawn noodles! We proceed to Genting Highlands with the Genting Skyway of course. Who would want to miss a ride on the world's fastest and South East Asia's longest cable car system?

It has been the tradition for us every year to shop for CNY clothes in Genting and this year is no exception. Everyone got to buy something in the end =) I told myself not to buy anything as I bought a few shirts but in the end I bought a pair of short pants after my persuasion from my cousins.

Dinner is different this year as we would not have our reunion dinner at Coffee Terrace like the pass 3 years. Instead, we had our reunion dinner at Happy Valley Restaurant, the Chinese style. A sumptuous meal indeed.

Night activity is lazing in hotel room as we were tired after shopping in the afternoon. My phone was beeping with Chinese New Year messages received and sent that my dad said I was such a busy person :P

There was supposed to be a firecrackers and fireworks presentation sharp at 12am but it was cancelled due to rain and heavy mist. What a disappointment. The day had not been good as it had been raining since evening and the weather is super cold that night!

Thus, we cousins decided to hang out in Starbucks for a cuppa but we still feel cold even though we are sitting indoor as the wind was blowing in through the slits of the entrance doors. As the guys were hungry, supper was at 1901 Hotdog.

Went downhill on the Chinese New year 1st day and thankfully this year, the weather is not too hot, so it's not so hot to hang out in relatives' homes. It's nice to meet up with my relatives after so long of not seeing them =)

Will meet up with Sharron, Wan Teang, Kok Keong and Wei Song for house visits at my home. Thanks to the little birthday surprise by Sharron and Wan Teang. They bought a piece Chocolate Indulgence cake from Secret Recipe. So nice of them. Love them =)

Visited KK's and his family members were friendly as they keep asking us to eat the home made biscuits. Sharron's is next and her dad treated us with red wine for the first time. Next up is Wan Teang's. Wan Teang managed to contact Sze Yin while we were at Wan Teang's and we headed to Sze Yin's home in Serdang after that.

Sze Yin's mum was so nice as she prepared fried chicken and fries specially for us. It's great to meet Sze Yin as I last met her when we took our STPM results.

After much persuasion, we finally got to go to Wei Song's house for the first time since we started house visits tradition 3 years ago. Rushed back home as my relatives will be having dinner at my home.

Happy Birthday, My Bro

Happy 18th Birthday to my brother!

Yeah, you are of legal age now. 3 more years to go before reaching the legallest (does this word exist) age of all.

Celebration for my brother's birthday is a moderate one. My dad suggested to go to Bukit Tinggi for dinner. You did not hear it wrong, it's the Bukit Tinggi in Pahang. It's a one-hour-plus drive from KL. Nevertheless, the journey to the place was worth it.

The place was green!! It's surround by hills and the environment is so quiet that you can hear the sound of river flow.

As they plant their own vegetables and rear fishes, their vegetables are really fresh and the fish that we had tastes nice!! The vegetables are so nice that my parents ordered a dish again even though we are about to finish all of the food. They even bought some vegetables home, haha.

Even though the journey took us 3 hours to and fro, the food worth the time. Can't wait to eat there again in near future!

Happy 22nd Birthday to me!!

My family celebrated my birthday in a restaurant. Or should I say, it is just a family, with no birthday cake. If we were to have a cake, my mum would have to finish the whole cake when my sis and me back to hostel. It was supposed to be a happy dinner but the dinner was somehow ruined by some unexpected events.

Firstly, there was a wedding held in the restaurant and we have no choice but to sit at an open area. It was raining and water droplets was blowed to our area. We shifted place to closed area where there's a table available. The services by the waiters and waitresses were bad too.

As there is a wedding banquet held in that restaurant, the food was served quite late. We waited for almost one hour just to eat our dinner. There are even a few times of blackout occured. My brother was really unhappy with all these events happened. To add in to that, he developed allergy the last time we ate there. My brother said that he would never go back there for a meal at anytime after these 2 encounters, haha. However. the food there is quite nice.

28th January 2008

My sister asked me to go to Old Town with my room mates. It was supposed to be a 4-person outing but it turns out to be a 14-person outing to Old Town.

The banana split that my sis and my room mates bought for me. Thanks. I love it! :D

When I was talking with my friends, I heard people singing Birthday song. I was surprised as I thought they will only celebrate my birthday during the OC Supper will falls on my birthday. 29th January 2008 - It's My Birthday!

Me and Ken, the January babies... Ken was born on 23rd, 6 days older than me. Yay! I'm not the oldest among my friends born in the year 1986.

Valerie was dipping some cream on my face or was she trying to kill me? Haha...

After Valerie dipped some cream on my face, I did the same thing to every guy there. Girls excluded but Valerie is an exception, haha... They all must have thought that I went crazy... Thanks to all the OCs that celebrated my birthday. It's a memorable one.

Double Joy for Me

Double joy within one week for me!

I went back home last Saturday, 5th January 2008 after the final exam ended. I was so tired at that time due to lack of sleep for days. My parents picked me up told me that there's a parcel from Lien Ghee waiting for me at home. I can't to wait to be back home and see what's inside the parcel.

To my surprise, it's a Japanese doll! A nice Japanese doll! What a surprise! There's words inside a card stating "Happy 22nd Birthday". It's my 22nd Birthday present! So it's a surprise comes early for me. I was really touched. So it's a surprise comes early. Lien Ghee never forgets my birthday. She never forgets about me. Thanks Lien Ghee! I will take good care of the doll. It's the most precious gift that I ever got for my birthday :D.

Second joy: I got my Nokia 6120 classic yesterday finally!! I paid on Monday and the parcel is delivered to me on Tuesday. Wow! These people in Lelong.com is really efficient. Impressive!

Sleek, elegant, classical and smooth, it justifies to the word "classic" of Nokia 6120 classic. The clear sound of melodies transmitted from the phone gives pleasure and joy to the ear of the listener, the smooth surface gives soothing sensation to the touch sense.

There's a lot of functions awaiting for me to explore! Gonna take some time before I'm familiar with all the functions, hehe. But I had difficulty fixing the SIM card into the phone though as the slot is too tight. Oh yeah, it has 2 cameras too, so making a 3G call is possible.

The front and back cameras of Nokia 6120 respectively... You know, I saw people uses front camera as a mirror, it is useful as mirror to me as will if I did not bring one, haha. The back camera is a 2.o mega pixel camera, not the best for a mobile phone, but is good enough for me to use and survive.

Okay, I might sound like a show off here, but I can't hide the joy of owning this phone. After all, I pay for it with my own money, it means a lot to me. Furthermore, I went through the pain of losing a phone in June 2006. Can't forgot the situation till today.

Phew! Finally done with the post after taking a long time to photograph and edit the pictures. What an achievement! I'm no professional photographer... so the pictures taken and edited are not as good as those of professionals of course. Nevertheless, I do love my work, haha.

The Light In A Hectic Day

This Tuesday, 28th August 2007, had been a hectic day for me. I had to be on air at 1 p.m. After that, I need to rush to Digital Media class at 2 p.m. The class is from 2 to 4 p.m. and I need to do some Photoshop tutorial. Class ended at 3.45 p.m. and I need to meet my lecturer regarding the assignment that is needed to be submitted next week. Rush to Consumer Behaviour class after that where my group will be presenting on our topic.

After done with my presentation, went back to my room. Time for my dinner at 7 p.m. HB 3 Hostel Block food court was too crowded, therefore I went to HB 2 for my dinner. Coincidently, meet someone there and therefore the miscommunication was resolved and the person even treat me 100 Plus because the person owe me teh ais.

Met Tharan and he passed something to me in a nice paper bag. Coincidently, Steve and Syakil saw the bag and asked Tharan about it. He said was a present for my birthday which falls on 28th August and they believed it! They sang a birthday song to me and everyone is looking at us! It felt so weird because my birthday is not here yet. Early celebration for me? Hmmm, 5 months till my birthday la, Tharan.

By the way, my dad's birthday falls on 28th August.

Anyway, they light up my day after such a hectic day, thanks to Tharan, Steve and Syakil. Luckily I ate at HB 2 instead of HB 3.
