Post-Christmas 2007

26th December 2007, Wednesday. It's post-Christmas day, or better known as Boxing Day. I am too tired today, too tired to even do anything. I planned to study but end up sleeping after I came back here to campus. There will be an OC Supper tonight at The Curve, hopefully it will be a blast.

Last few days had been a torture for me, due to lack of sleep. It had been real hectic for me starting 21st December 2007.

21st December 2007 (Friday)
Rushing assignment since Thursday. Did not sleep at all to rush assignment submission today. A sigh of relief for me when I submit the assignment to my lecturer's room. Went back home in the afternoon and manage to get a few hours of sleep and then start to face my laptop again to edit pictures. Editing pictures in Photoshop really comsumed a lot of my time, I am only done in the wee hours in the morning.

22nd December 2007 (Saturday)
Was due to go out with my cousin to club for the very first time but due to miscommunication, in the end, my dad brought me, my sis, my bro and my neighbour to Thai Club in the midnight. My dad bring me to club!! How cool is that!! It's nice to have my dad by my side to go clubbing for the very first time.

Yeah, laugh at me for only been to a club only at 21. Basically, as expected, the place is loaded with alcohol and drunkards. Such an eye-opener experience for me. I can see the ugly behaviours of people when they are drunk - going wild and etiquette is out of mind.

What's more to do in club? Dance of course. Us girls went to the dancefloor to dance (I'm more like moving body instead of dancing as I can't dance, haha). Few guys try to hit on us, dancing in front of us but we never to bother even look at them, haha. Sorry guys, I am not interested *flip my hair backwards*. No no. Clubbing is not my lifestyle but nice to experience new things. Haha. I cannot imagine myself dancing like a wild girl and drinking alcohol like it's water. *shakes head*

Met with a traffic jam on the way home due to a road block, the policemen were checking for drunkards, every car is stopped. No exception for my dad.

P: Policeman D: My dad

P: Encik dari mana? STOP!
D: Bawa anak balik rumah...

P: Ok! Ok! Jaga ya...

Luckily my dad is not required to stop aside and go through all those procedures as we were so tired and so off to home we went. Bathed as I can't stand the smell and slept at 4 something.

23rd December 2007 (Sunday)
Morning, pre-course registration today. Woke up at 8.30 am just for it but end up seeing "Database connection is not establised." Was so pissed that I grumbled about it the whole morning, haha. The problem was only rectified at 11 something when my family was about to go out for lunch. Imagine that! Why would they put our course registration on Sunday? Sunday, the staffs will probably be enjoying their breakfast with no worries, while we all struggle to do our course registration due to some technical problems.

Afternoon, went for lunch in Serdang as my cousin moved in into a new house. There's lake view from my cousin's new house! Such a nice place to live in!

Night, went for farewell dinner for Yuen Mei at Dae Jang Geum, a Korean restaurant. Third time going there yet the food still tastes nice. Not forgetting of course taking some pictures there. Shall post the pictures later. After the dinner, I went to my cousin sister's pre-wedding dinner.

24th December 2007 (Monday)
The wedding day for my cousin sister. Wake up at 7.30 am. I managed to get only 4 hours of sleep. Kinda tiring but still need to be at my cousin's house early as I am one of the 'zhi muis'. The morning did not start out too well as the car drove by my brother scratched someone's car. What a miserable day for us.

After the tea ceremony, we rushed to Putrajaya as the wedding couple is due to register their marriage. Spotlights are on the wedding couple as people will turn the head to look at them when they passed by people in the Registration Centre in Putrajaya. Hehe... Luckily for them, they managed to register their marriage. It's such a touching scene when the couple exchange vows in front of all the witnesses.

Wedding dinner at Holiday Villa Subang Jaya. It was a blast. It was not your typical wedding dinner where you will just sit at your table, eat, then say goodbye. My relatives play games, run around the room in a line, going onstage to sing christmas carols, taking loads of pictures, loads of it and countdown to Christmas together. We can be considered as taking the limelight away from the newlywed couple. Ha ha... Now only I realised that I had such cool relatives, cool cousins. Now that's something different.

Went to Hartamas Square after that. Hang out with relatives and tried Malibu for the very first time thanks to my cousin who bought it from Australia. Tastes quite nice and suitable for girls due to the fruity flavour.

25th December 2007 (Tuesday)
It's Christmas day!! Merry Christmas!! Nothing special on Christmas Day. I was too tired that I slept almost the whole day. Wake up in the afternoon. Ate my lunch and back to my sleep again. Night was no exception as well. Fell asleep when I was watching TV.... Might take days for me to recover from the post-party/ post-festive season fatigue that I experience.

I'm all done with my hectic days. Time to study now for my finals. Wish me luck!

Web 2.0 Concept

My lecturer for Multimedia Marketing organised a talk on Web 2.0 concept on 17th December 2007, Monday and he managed to invite Mr. Rohan Thomas from Microsoft to give a talk on Web 2.0 concept.

According to
Wikipedia, this is how Mr. Tim O' Reilly define Web 2.0,"Web 2.0 is the business revolution in the computer industry caused by the move to the Internet as platform, and an attempt to understand the rules for success on that new platform."

Basically, Mr. Rohan summarised that Web 2.0 as "architecture of application". Users are involved in the phenomenon. It's quite an interesting talk and I never know the definite name for this phenomenon even though we might notice changes in the multimedia world or the Internet.

The talk is quite interesting, with Mr. Rohan showing us the applications that have integrated the Web 2.0 concept and it is quite impressive. I think it's a boring talk for him as we were unable to answer some of the questions thrown out by him and it is quite boring for him to talk to an uninteractive crowd.

Throughout the talk, he kept on asking "Any questions?" but none of us bother to ask a question. Either we are too smart that we understand, or we does not know anything about what he is talking about. In the end, there's 2 person asked him questions. But it is a disappointment for him as he expects more questions.

From the talk, I realised that we, the Marketing students, are not aware of what's the latest trends around which will influence the lifestyle of consumers around the world. The competitiveness, the preserverence, the creativity, the innovativeness and the curiosity that we as Marketing students should have are not inside me.

Multimedia Marketing, is something that is really impressive. Even more impressive is to see the applications that are developed by Microsoft. The Popfly and Silverlight. It's so impressive that everyone in the hall goes "WOW" when Mr. Rohan demonstrated it in front of us. You can't never believe that you don't even have to wait for the page to load or even to click on links to get the queries on the website. It's really impressive!!

Will Web 2.0 incorporated as part of our life in future is still a question now. Nothing is impossible. And we Marketing students will just have to anticipate it. Mr Tim O' Reilly had a detailed explanation of the Web 2.0 concept on his website. For more details on Web 2.0 concept, you may click here.

Try to notice the applications in the Internet. Web 2.0 is everywhere!!

OMG! OMG! Jamie-Lynn Is PREGNANT!!

OMG! You won't believe what I saw in news today!
Jamie-Lynn Spears is PREGNANT!!

I saw it on my friend's status and when I'm about to search about it in Yahoo, I saw it featured in the website. So, I save my time on searching it. For more details, you may read it here.

When Britney annouced that she will remain virgin until she is married, people made a big deal out of it, and when she said that she is not a virgin anymore at the age of 21, it made headlines all over the world.
And now it is Jamie-Lynn's make even bigger headline with the news that she is pregnant at the age of 16!! Even Britney is pregnant at the age of 23! As innocent as Jamie-Lynn may look, she's not that innocent. Luckily, she did not consider abortion as an option to run away from responsibilities.

It's might just another news of the day but underlying it is a bigger social problem. Pre-marital sex is so common and it can happens to anyone. Did people even consider the consequences of their action? Did the ladies know that they will get pregnant? Some get married after they know that they are pregnant without considering properly. And the marriage ends up with a lot of problems.

People are bombarded with sex-laced information everywhere. It's available to anyone at anytime. Even women's magazine will even talk about pre-marital sex. What to do? Sex sells. It's a fact. Anyway, p
eople responsible for their own actions. It's their freedom to choose what they wanted to do. I am not here to judge anyone. But "think before you do anything".

By the way, there's 2 people who saw my status about Jamie-Lynn is pregnant and they use the word OMG! What a coincidence, the report is posted on the Yahoo! Entertainment omg! beta website. The news real shocking eh? Really OMG!

The Last 2 Weeks of Year 2007

It's towards the end of the year again. Assignments submission date due, exam is coming. The last 2 weeks of the year 2007 will be busy, happy and emotional for me.

I AM BUSY because...
Assignment submission will due on Friday and I just started to compile it. There's thousands of words that I needed to be read through and editing needed to be done. It's hard to be the one who compile everything, you need to ensure that there is no mistakes in the work done by other group members and it's even more stressful that you are the one who will determine the marks that is given to the assignment. If you did a bad job, there goes your marks.

I AM HAPPY because...
My cousin sister will be getting married on Christmas Eve, and all my relatives will be busy during that time that few days and yeah, my cousin brother, Joon Sing is coming back from Australia, haha. OF course, we cousins have to allocate time for him to hang out together. He even remind us to make ourselves free during that period, haha. He will be bringing back wine with him, hopefully, our cousins' gathering will be memorable. We had memorable gatherings and outings every year, with lots of laughter. I remember we will laugh like mad for some reasons everytime we hang out together, and there will be no exception this year.

*Singy, remember to allocate time for us ya, we cousins for sure will have time for you. You are the VVIP for us every year, haha. Remember to bring back some nice wine ya, and don't let other people to finish the wine that are meant for us!! *wicked smile* I'm gonna make you drunk and dig some secret from you, haha. Hopefully, all of us won't get drunk. I think all of us won't want to tell our own secrets.*

I AM EMOTIONAL because...
Yuen Mei will be leaving Malaysia for the United States at 31st December 2007 to further her studies. It will be emotional for me to see every of my friend left. First is Joon Sing to Australia, then Lien Ghee to Japan, Nean Hua to Taiwan, Wen Jian to the UK and now, Yuen Mei to the United States to pursue their dreams, their hopes for the future. I never bid farewell to anyone of them in the airport because I know that I could not control myself from crying.

When someone will be leaving I can't control myself from shedding tears. It's very painful to see someone close to you leaving for another place far from you. You can't see them face to face, and they are living in a world where the culture is different from yours, and you can't never understand their pain, their lonliness, their desires, how they long to be near to their family and friends...

Yuen Mei had been really a good friend of mine since Form 6. We had known each other since Form 2 when we were librarians back then but we are not close. We were in the same class for Form 5 yet we have our own gang of friends. Then in Lower Six, we were in class of 6R3 where because we were undecided between taking Physics or Biology as our 4th subject. Then, both of us together changed to 6R2 where we still go to Physics class but after a while, she gave up. I gave up on Physics towards the end of the year 2004.

We will sit together in the Biology lab, where we will argue over the facts in Biology, Chemistry, PA and also Maths. I remember sometimes I will argue with Sharron over the facts and you will asking both of us to stop. But still, Sharron and me will be arguing over facts for countless times that you get immuned to it, hehe. Both of us also have a share of arguments over small things like Orlando Bloom and I will said things about him. There's one time we argue over fairy tales in life and till now, I still stand on my opinion that there is no fairy tale in life.

We argue in so many things for so many times that Wan Teang (which sat next to me and in front of you) and Nean Hua (which sat behind me and next to you) will know when we will start arguing and they will say, "They are going to start again." After arguing for a long time, Nean Hua and Wan Teang will make a conclusion for us and we will ask for Sharron's opinion (which sat behind Nean Hua). She will be lazy to even give in our antics because she was busy studying, haha.

I remember Sharron will be annoyed when I start calling "Yuen Mei arrrrrr" and you start calling "Keat Yee arrrrrr" because she sat between us in the Biology lab but then she will continue studying. Till now I still wonder how Sharron can put up to our name calling and continue studying, haha. But I like the innocence and the sincerity that you have. You will be amazed by new things that I told you because and the enthusiasm will be potrayed by the look in your eyes.

May you have a good experience in US and we here in Malaysia will still remain as your friends. The new experiences there will be an eye-opener for you, to venture into better things in future.

That's all for now. I wish that everyone will have a memorable end-of-the-year celebration.

With Love from,

Keat Yee

Keat Yee is Back!!

Keat Yee is Back! Keat Yee is Back!! *Clap hands*

Yeah, Keat Yee is back after an almost 3 months hiatus... I had not been updating my blog since September due to the hectic schedule as I was busy with assignments and then studied as I had my finals in October. After finals was my holiday, but I was too lazy to update my blog because I wanted to have a rest after a hectic semester - sleepless nights because of completing assignments, study for exams, presentations - AND I also suffered from writer's block once again.

Back to new semester, the schedule is as hectic as ever, with case studies every week for one subject, then busy with DJ Club activities, Yellow Army and also Orientation Committee trip. I do not have much time for myself as also family, where I went back to my home for only twice in 5 weeks. I used to go home almost every week, but this semester I think I had only seen my parents for less than 100 hours. Thus, my blog is abandoned as well.

The last time I went home was on 30th November but my parents was in Singapore that time. So left my brother, my sis and me in the house. I cooked the breakfast and lunch for them but it was just some processed food and it makes me missed my mum's cooking. I can't even remember the last time I ate my home-cooked food.

Enough of that ramble, back to some recent happenings. I just went to Orientation Committee 2007 Port Dickson trip which is from 7th December 2007 to 9th December 2007 and I came back to Cyberjaya feeling unwell. I have flu and also allergy which make me feel unwell. I thought my allergic problem will be over in a matter of days. Instead, it became worse that I need to see a doctor yesterday as I can't stand the itch anymore. Red spots covered both of my legs and hands for now.

Today, I felt so tired that it's hard for me to wake up. Thus, I did not go for a Yellow Army task which I had promised to go for. I felt dizzy this whole afternoon and I talked crap to my room mates without realising it. Luckily, a Nando's waiter lighten up my day!! I went to the Nando's stall in MPH carpark to collect payment from them and then helped my room mate to buy her food at the Nando's stall. The waiter gave me a pack of rice and coleslaw for FREE and he even gave me a cold drink instead of the normal drink! What a nice guy!! Even though it is just some small matters, but I do appreciate what he has done! If it is not for him, I might have been gloomy and flushed-out this whole day.

More updates soon where I will be posting pictures of activities that I had participated in which consumed SO much of my time. It's been a long time since I have time for myself...

That's all for now.

~KEAT YEE signing off.~
